NRM-IT can grant access to Eduroam by issuing a SWAMID (Swedish Academy Identity Federation). According to the rules set by NRM, only employees with a work-related need, and who often travels in duty, are allowed to apply for a SWAMID ("Endast medarbetare med en anställning som har ett arbetsrelaterat behov och som ofta reser i tjänsten kan ansöka om ett SWAMID-konto" (SWAMID-konton.pdf).
If you fit that description, you should tell your nearest supervisor to apply (to NRM-IT) for a SWAMID for you.
A SWAMID will allow you to get an Eduroam account, and the Eduroam wireless network is currently broadcasted by the wifi routers throughout the museum. You will most probably get instructions from NRM-IT about how to login.
A successful login will grant you access to www, but due to an incorrect DNS
configuration, your computer will not be able to use ssh
to full extent.
Furthermore, ICMP traffic is for some reason blocked so you cannot, e.g., use
ping
. Needless to say, the incorrect DNS configuration will also affect
non-NRM employees who connects to Eduroam.
Hopefully, these issues will be solved by NRM-IT soon.
Description on a working solution is most welcome.
