this release only contains a full release download as a user provided both scripts and sound changes, thanks to @valiant8086 for their work. Please see the readme in the scripts/files directory of the package or on the homepage of this repo for install and upgrade instructions. For changes, see the file changelog.txt in the files directory of the scripts directory.
version 2.8.1.1 emergency release.
Thanks to player notification, This emergency fix fixes major issues in set files introduced in 2.8.1. This patch will close loopholes and rule violations introduced in 2.8.1. If running 2.8.1 simply download the scripts patch and patch all script files, ignoring upgrade instructions in readme file.
If running something pre 2.8.1 release, download the full file, and upgrade all files, without skipping any steps in readme file.
version 2.8.1 official release.
After month's of testing 2.8.1 is ready for release.
All scripts and sounds will need to be updated, so follow all steps in the readme, especially if upgrading from the last development build.

Going forward, their will be at least two out of three .exe files available.
a full release file, for knew soundpack installs.
a scripts only file, for times when just scripts change.
a sounds only file, for those times when just sound files change.
Please only download the file you need, as it will make your installation much easier.
If your absolutely unsure, or you haven't downloaded the pack in awhile, you can pull the full release file, as it will be available with every release.
This release only contains a full release file due to the number of sound and script changes that have happened since the last release.

version 2.8.1, march 18, 2022.
This release fixes buffers, and adds a few symantic updates to the changelog that were missed last go round, please, please, see step 5 in the readme to make buffers work properly.
If you open an issue and clearly haven't followed step 5 in the readme after downloading this release, I'll point you to it.
sc soundpack development release, 2.8.1 dev, March 17, 2022
This release has a lot of mostly sound changes in it.
A buffer system is in the works, it's just at the time of publication not ready for even dev testing.
note: their are lines in the changelog not listed here as their are incomplete changes that were logged but the work wasn't finished at release publication.

*updates the startup message to reference the issue tracker and where you can find it's URL.
*slight cosmetic and readability changes to readme.txt
*thanks to luna, modifies several sound files to make them not suck.
*thanks to luna, modifies ground combat to use a different sound for enemy damage notifications.
*thanks to luna, adds a low grid sound file, and modifies the trigger to use it instead of the loud as piss failsafe sound.
*thanks to luna, screen reader gags the computer says in ships, but leaves the line stil visible in the output window. The screen reader will only read the second half of the line.

welcome to the 2.8.1 development release for March 2022.
This release currently has no significant sound or trigger changes from the last 2.8 release published prior to it's abandonment by the previous soundpack developers. the only changes are updates to the readme file, and minor set file changes to bring the credits and other necessary information up to date with the current development environment, and other credit updates where necessary.
