1.2.2.5 GS Police Force

This section describes operation regarding interaction with the police force.

This one may be tricky, because one slap in the face may not be cause to call the police, but, repeated similar movements and sounds may result on automated call of a police unit regarding a domestic violence case. Shots and violence with knives or other house items also can be identified by the LIDAR system.

Whether to call the police should come, perhaps, from the family member, for cases which domestic violence are the norm. Once called, only the police has the authority to cancel the alarm. Till a police unit arrives the alarm is continuosly active.

When detected a shot sound and gun powder smoke, the police and an ambulance should be called automatically, but also when a house's alarm system is triggered ( this can be subject to consideration since most alarm systems nowadays has a direct call for their security team ).

One problem to solve in Portugal, is a jurisdiction problem, since we have GNR and PSP. GNR is a paramilitary police force, but there are regions where there is only GNR, others PSP and have both.

Perhaps the system should try to automatically decide which one to call or leave it to a human operator.
