3. Making contrasts

Contrasts can be a handy tool to visualize differences in bivariate parameter space of the phenotypic fingerprint. Here is an example on the comparison between the start-up and the non-operational state of a cooling water microbial community using the fp_contrasts
function. Red areas indicate higher densities and blue areas indicate lower densities during the start-up of the reactor. In this case it seems bacteria with a higher fluorescence intensity become enriched during the reactor start-up.
