ROV COMPETITION PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION SETUP CHECKLIST

this is the procedure checklist for doing an rov demo

parts list

• rov
• tether
• overhead projector cart
• carabeaner
• 6 in diameter webbing loop
• webbing ladder
• ethernet router
  • router power supply
• controller laptop
  • laptop power supply
• 2x 10ft ethernet cables.
• xbox 360 controller

setup procedure

• assemble overhead projector cart
  • short shelf on the bottem
  • tall shelf on the top
• unspool teather and coil onto bottem shelf of cart.
• place the rov on middle tall shelf
• attach the rov side of tether to rov
• use the carabeaner to attach the tether shore side strain releif to cart handle
• router on top of cart
  • router psu plugged into cart powerstrip
  • router psu plugged into router
  • topside tether ethernet plugged into router
  • controller laptop ethernet plugged into router
• contller laptop on top of cart
  • controller laptop psu plugged into cart powerstrip
  • controller laptop psu pluged into laptop
  • xbox360 controller plugged into laptop
  • controller laptop ethernet plugged into controller laptop
  • cables managed so laptop can be pulled down to controller table

demo procedure

• use the webbing ladder to strap the cart to the side of the table
• unload the rov from the cart and place it on the pool deck
• unload the tether from the cart and place on the pool deck
• uncoil the cart extension cord and plug in the cart
• make sure the router switch is flipped to on
• bring the laptop with the xbox360 controller down to the table
• open the laptop and login

  • password: Cabri11o
• plug in the rov and wait for the speed controler initialization sound.
• on the laptop and open the terminal application and run the command source ~/cabrillo_rov/misc/shore_startup.sh
