Choosing a probe file

After selecting the appropriate .cfg file for the hardware to be used with ninjaNIRS, the program will then prompt the user to load the probe file. The probe file extension is .nsd and they are analogous to the probe files used (.sd) in the CW software. The .nsd file defines the location of the optodes on the head, as well as the measurement channels of interest. Furthermore, for ninjaNIRS the .nsd file also specifies other hardware configuration, like the modulation frequency of each optode, if they are configured as a source or as a detector etc. For more technical details on the specification of the .nsd file see here.

As of today (11/2/2020) AtlasViewer is only capable of creating .sd files. For the moment, .nsd files are created manually with Matlab. We are planning on releasing a script to convert .sd files to .nsd files.
