В контроллере есть два USB-C порта. Один - Debug Network - может работать как usb device (gadget) со стороны линуса. Другой - Debug Console - подключен на плате контроллера через USB-UART переходник к отладочной консоли процессора.
Вам нужно протащить в юзерспейс статус того, воткнут ли кабель в Debug Console или нет.
