[WIP][Resources] A List of Platforms That You Could Apply for GPU Resrouces

Based on the recent discussions with our Ph.D. students, there are many research projects that require GPU resources for e.g., model training. Currently, the resources provided by ERDC on the OpenStack platform do not contain GPU resources. Thus we use this page to document the other kinds of platforms that you could apply for GPU resources.

  1. SNIC (Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing)

The Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC) is a national research infrastructure that provides a balanced and cost-efficient set of resources and user support for large scale computation and data storage to meet the needs of researchers from all scientific disciplines and from all over Sweden (universities, university colleges, research institutes, et cetera). The resources are made available through open application procedures such that the best Swedish research is supported.

Details about applications can be found here: https://snic.se/allocations/

It is possible for students to directly apply for a quota of calculation resources on SNIC. You can also discuss with your supervisor and apply for a project with larger research scope. More specifically, if you would like to apply for GPU resources you are recommended to try SNIC AI/ML and Berzelius.

  1. HOPS

Ericsson is running a platform called HOPS that provides GPU resources for machine learning. Robert Marklund is responsible for operating it and may give you some initial support. If anyone has used this HOPS before, you are welcome to add more details in this section.
