Data owners are responsible for the data in the area of the company for which they work on a daily basis. Their mission is to translate strategic objectives into concrete reality, without forgetting to take into account the business needs.

Steward

A data steward is an information technology professional who controls the quality of data a company gathers and the method it uses to collect it. Employees often contact them to report data breaches or leaks. They monitor the processes for collecting data and ensure that the information is in the right format. They also organize data according to the company's preferences. Data stewards might also help solve data-related issues by managing data corruption

Definition

Data definition is a sentence wich define the meaning and the purpose of a concept.
This sentence must be understandable by all the professionals and technicians who are looking for information about this concept. It must be general enough to be stable over time.
Ex : A client is the party for which professional services are rendered.

All the words, short forms that can replace the concept name.
Ex : CLI, buyer

Taxonomy

A data taxonomy is a classification of data into categories and subcategories. It provides a single view of an organization's data and introduces common terminologies and semantics across systems. Prioritizing a set of metadata and categorizing it provides a better understanding of the relationships between data points. Ex : Person, Healthcare

Sensitivity

Categories are used to organize data according to risk criteria. This allows for an advanced protection strategy for your most sensitive data. By knowing where your data is, you can reduce your exposure to leakage and meet compliance requirements.

  • Sensitive : Information about a data subject's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union involvement, physical or mental health, sexuality, or details of criminal offences.
  • Personal : Information that identifies a data subject, either directly or in combination with other data or information.
  • Confidential : Business data that you use for accounting or other business purposes and do not wish to expose to other entities. This may include, for example, accounting entries.
  • Normal : General data that does not fall into the other categories.

History

Important events and facts that have changed the meaning or structure of the concept. A date accompanies each step.

Lineage

Where the data is created, modified, used, deleted. Usefull to understand the data lifecycle and impact analysis.
Steps :

  • Created : creation of the data
  • Read : usage of data without change
  • Update : change the value of the data
  • Delete : destruction of data

Ex : Created and Modified in AAA System, Accessed by BBB, Never Deleted
