Currently ground-based caravans can only use the Caravan Outpost while aerial caravans can only use the Aerial Outpost. This leads to a problem where it is very difficult to integrate aerial caravans into an existing ground-based caravan logistic system, essentially requiring the addition of a parallel network.
To alleviate this all caravan types can now use all outpost types, meaning aerial caravans can be immediately integrated into an existing ground-based caravan logistic network without extensive rebuild.
I expect there to be push and pull between what outpost type is most appropriate in a given situation, with smaller outposts better used with low-volume intermediates and aerial outposts used for the transportation of bulk cargo.
