π¨βπ» I'm primarily a backend developer with 5 to 10 years of experience (depending on whether you consider part-time software development or just full-time software development), although I have solved about 5 frontend tickets (more or less π ). I have worked on the design, implementation, load/stress/QA testing, bug fixing, and evolution of various backend systems for several startups, a big tech company (mercadolibre.co), various Software Factory kind of companies, and even the District of BogotΓ‘. In all these roles. I have experience with several technology stacks, mainly related to Go, Python, Java, TypeScript and C#.
π» I love every aspect of software development, from the highly technical to the human or soft skill-related aspects (or power skills, whatever you prefer to call them). Fundamentally, I'm a team player. I have tried to share my thoughts on this through my Instagram account mytechteamfirst, although I kind of forgot to update it.
π¨βπ« I have also been a collegiate professor and training coach for competitive programming students and teams at the high school and collegiate levels. I participated two times in the ACM ICPC World Finals (check here the hall of fame) as a contestant and three times as a coach (from 2011 to 2015). I coached the first Colombian team to become the Latin American champion of the ACM ICPC Regional Contest. To this day, from time to time, I still take part in some online contests just for the fun of it, but I'm too rusty.
π I have an undergraduate and a master's degree in Systems Engineering and Computing from the National University of Colombia - BogotΓ‘, which, for all of you who may not know, is basically a mixture between Computer Science and Software Engineering.
