Very aesthetically pleasing, I like the new design philosophy being employed with a bunch of the recent shuttles! |
Just cruising by for fun. Enjoying the classic spaceship profile that's been popping up lately. Galaga ships everywhere. The interior layout gives me some rather nostalgic recollections of some of the larger yachts I've visited over the years. If we had Z levels I could easily see the side berth sitting atop engineering. I wonder if the open wall by the engineering bay might not be a nice place for a fire extinguisher and the wall by the curtain leading into the head might not be a good place for a defib. You never know when a trip to the bathroom may be a fatal one without medical intervention. At present the waste system seems to be missing a passive vent? The engineering bay is nice and tidy. Good layout. I noticed that the corners all have glass floors with the exception of the two by the braking thrusters. Was that an intentional choice? I appreciate the departure from TECHMAINT EVERYWHERE beneath the airlocks. However I have to admit that the uninterrupted tiling by the entrance airlocks felt a little surprising. That's just me I'm sure. The toilet serves as a very handle trashcan in a pinch. Appreciate that. I was noticing that some rooms seem to be lit by bulbs and other by bars. The main cabin has a bar, as does the engineering room and "lobby", but the lounge and bathroom use bulbs. I was curious what your thoughts were when deciding on which for where. The sofa side bar makes me feel like we wouldn't be doing ourselves a disservice by having a booze cabinet that enjoys a few additional drinks in stock. While the gin is a nice touch I think that a selection of some high end bottles for a few nice recipes wouldn't be out of order, nice to be able to mix a few drinks without demanding a full bar be installed. That might be a nice side PR. Good thing I double checked haha, what are the odds? Noticed the minimalist guidebook entry. I presume this is a sign of what's to come. Nice entry into the ranks of for funshies shuttles. |
Defib and extinguisher... I knew I'd forgotten something! Always those two I tend to forget as well. xD Thanks for your comments, I'll get around to answering later! |
Certainly not! Don'tlookunderthethruster. I definitely didn't forget to put it there. No siree. *nervous sweating noises*
You betcha. Otherwise the red and green lateral lights end up illuminating and colouring the glass, and the effect looks even less convincing than normal. At least with lattice it doesn't look like those corners are even trying to pretend.
It's unusual for sure, but hopefully not too bad of a thing. :) Helps break up the monotony of steel tile everywhere and gives a break from the usual safety markings.
Basically, give the ship a soft, lowish light level. Fluorescent lights are brighter than small lights. Fluorescent lights go in the "lobby"/entrance area for safety reasons (clearly illuminated exit), and in the bridge for greater visibility when approaching things. I will however change the bedroom to use a bulb, as was intended from the beginning (oopsies).
I sort of agree. But also, if you're cruising around in a personal leisure craft, you can totally stop by Tinnia's/Bahama, the Lodge or even the casino to get your fill of drink. There's no shortage of alcohol in the sector.
That happened to me TWICE while testing the ship. TWICE! I had to do a double-take to make sure I hadn't placed two SSD posters. |
About the PR
Adds a new leisure shuttle, the SBB Baroness.
Why / Balance
Almost all of our ships are centered around doing a job. I think it would be wonderful to have more ships designed for rest and relaxation – like the Camper and PTS. The Baroness aims to fill that role with a touch more luxury.
A comfortable home away from home, it features a large lounge with a kitchenette (no kitchen machines, but a wall-mount freezer and a shelf for storing foods in!), a wide-screen TV, jukebox, comfy sofa, little dining table, some free drinks and a genuine synthetic mahogany wooden cabinet.
For when you wish to retreat, there is a private bedroom with closable shutters. The bedroom features a tiny office for all your, er, office needs.
