@morrownr Which one should I buy? COMFAST CF-953AX or Fenvi FU-AX1800? Are they compatible with 6 GHz? Because they are included in the Tri-band section of this file as if they were compatible.

Which one should I buy?

I wish I had one of each so I could throw some data your direction but I don't. The 953AX has been on the market much longer. Buyers seem to be generally pleased with it. The Fenvi adapter also seems to be getting positive comments. I'd say both have average range. I do have a CF-951AX. It is like the 953AX but only has an internal antenna. Range is not bad but I don't recommend it too strongly because it won't work with extension cables or powered hubs. I also have an Alfa AXML but you can see the price. It is a high quality adapter. I couldn't resist.

Are they compatible with 6 GHz?

Should be. I have yet to see an adapter with the mt7921au chipset that is not supporting 6 GHz. Well, on Linux. Several of the adapters with that chipset say dual-band and they may be on Windows. Maybe it is a Windows driver thing but the Linux driver supports everything the chipset can do.

I was checking some dates and it very well could be that Windows is the reason some of the adapters only advertise as dual-band. The lead time for the earlier low cost adapters would date back to when Windows did not yet support 6 GHz. On Linux, the mt7921au chipset and mt7921u driver support 6 GHz and have since the driver went into the kernel. Wireless in linux, especially USB wireless, has made a lot of progress in the last few years. We are to the point now that Mediatek is getting their new product drivers in the kernel like Intel and AMD... long before you can buy the product. The upcoming mt7925 (WiFi 7) chipset already has a driver in the kernel as of 6.7. Now we wait for product.

I am going to buy the Fenvi simply because the antennas do not protrude from the bottom like on the Comfast.
