To build the module, run
python setup.py build
Though untested, the install command should work as well, since the build process just uses distutils.

Note that pysdfmodule.c doesn't work properly. The module uses the C++ implementation. I've kept the C version there for potential future development.

The module provides two methods

read(filename, level)
Reads SDF file filename, pulling specified time level. Returns a tuple
gridf_name, time, cnames, coords, data
where gridf_name is the grid function name, time is the time coordinate, cnames is the coordinate names (such as "x|y|z"), coords is a 1D packed coordinate array (all discrete x-values, followed by y, etc), and data is a Fortran-ordered multidimensional NumPy array. Uses gft_read_full()
If any bbhutil method fails, only an integer is returned with the error code.

write(gridf_name, time, cnames, coords, data)
Writes SDF grid function to appropriate file based on gridf_name, appending if file exists, creating file if not, with cnames, coords, and data as previously described in read(). Returns the integer return value of gft_out_full().
