Evrmyr is the specification for a multiplayer fantasy simulation game set in the world of Hymenoptera Apocrita (ants, bees, and wasps) using the Evennia python library and game engine.
This is where everything is happening right now. You are invited to contribute content, ideas, vision to this project. Please browse the wiki. Add input where you see fit to do so. Feel free to edit existing pages or create new pages.
Suggestions for how to organize the brainstorming:
Ideas for a game not constrained by existing scientific knowledge. Allow for hyper intelligent individualistic ant-like entities, utilizing technology or magic etc. Sources examples include: T.H. White's Book of Merlin, Move: Starship Troopers, Starcraft Zerg, C.J. Cherryh's Serpent's Reach, Also Movies like "A Bug's Life" and "Antz" probably go here or perhaps they are hybrids.
Ideas that prioritize accurately representing/simulating ants in a world very much like our own. Note that plenty of liberties will necessarily be taken to make the simulation "playable" but the source material for every feature in this category should be scientifically based.
Not sure this should be a branch of its own. Since in practice every idea in the other two categories is already going to share some characteristics of the other. Let's see how it goes.
