This paper reports the automated reconstruction of FANC's neurons, synapses, and nuclei using convolutional neural network-based pipelines.
The motor neurons controlling the front legs and the wings were proofread. The muscle target of each motor neuron was also determined by comparing neuroanatomy between electron microscopy, X-ray microscopy, and light microscopy datasets.
A separate repository containing analysis code can be found at https://github.com/tuthill-lab/Azevedo_Lesser_Phelps_Mark_2024. The paper's analysis is based on the state of the FANC connectome on January 17th, 2024 – specifically CAVE materialization v840, which has a timestamp of 1705479001.179472 (use datetime.datetime.fromtimestamp(1705479001.179472, datetime.timezone.utc)
in Python).
