Note that the index building took 14 hours on a c6i.2xlarge instance. It was supposed to run in at most 12 hours according to https://github.com/harsha-simhadri/big-ann-benchmarks/blob/main/neurips23/README.md#build-time-limit. Maybe this will change in the final evaluation on the Azure instance.
