+Had an interview this week with a young designer who is clearly destined to be successful, but does not match us for several reasons. This is one of the hardest parts of scaling.

+Saturday we had lunch with Ryan and Kelly at De Kas, and Sunday we rode almost 80 km to test our readiness for the Dam tot Dam. It was great, I’m looking forward to the ride later this month.

+This week we began our semi-annual 360 review process, which is a good forcing function for management discussions. I am both totally used to talking about other humans as if they are just machines to be performance-tuned and also will never be comfortable about it.
+
+Good week with some social but not too much, and I’ve started a group coaching thing that wasn’t yet “useful” but is already brings some “I am not alone” comfort.

+This week I gave up my Dutch passport. I just can’t give up my American one while my mother still lives there, so will have to hope the laws stay stable (despite the right wing coalition that recently formed our government) and I can later arrange for dual citizenship. This was scheduled many months ago, so it surprised me that I found it so poignant when they showed me that my registration was reverted to _Amerikaans burger_.

+Today we rode the Dam tot Dam Fietsclassic with Ryan. The weather was perfect and we only did the 110 km route, so I finished ready to do it again. I think all three of us are eager to do more long rides. Even if we don’t get to ride through the  IJtunnel more than once per year.
