History of GTE

  • Summer of 2010: Mark Egesdal, then Economics Master's student at LSE (where Bernhard von Stengel works as an academic), created the main GUI in Action Script (Flash) and Java on the server end, which runs on the Google App Engine. Mark is now back in Hawaii.

  • Summer of 2011: Alfonso Gomez-Jordana extended the GUI capabilities as GSoC student

  • Early 2012: Rahul Savani ports the server from Google App Engine to a local Jetty installation, in order to use existing programs in native C which the Google App Engine does not allow.

  • Summer of 2012: Martin Prause works as GSoC student, with Alfonso as mentor, on numerous improvements, and a new GUI input style for game trees and game matrices.

  • November 2013: Rahul Savani and Bernhard von Stengel clean up Strategic-Form GUI. Domain www.gametheoryexplorer.gte is bought, current temporary link to GTE main page is http://www.maths.lse.ac.uk/Personal/stengel/html/
