The main Legal Issue of the project is as follows:

A user downloads the application, imports a video as per the intended functionality, then animates over the entirety of the film. The aforementioned user distributes the animated version in a monetized way. This violates the copyright law of the original movie.

The answer to this issue will lie in a Terms of Service agreement. The terms of service of the application will include a statement to the effect of:

"By using this application, you agree to not use it to infringe on the rights of other's property, to any degree. Such infringements will result in the violator being subject to the applicable laws and legal processes."

This will cover not only the copyrights of intellectual property, but of any further types of private items.
