Rudy Ortega, Director of Security Operations at Palo Alto Networks:
I had the pleasure of managing Luke during his internship at the Palo Alto Networks SOC. Luke did an excellent job of onboarding to the team and was able to quickly learn the various tools used in the SOC. To this end Luke was able to learn how to use our SIEM to perform in depth investigations and to review alerts in the SOC queue. As a result he was able to successfully deliver on his main internship project at the end of his internship. However, more importantly, Luke was able to master how to properly analyze a large variety of SOC alert types which allowed him to become a valuable contributor to the team's day to day operations. Based on a review of the SOC alerts Luke closed I can confirm his threat analysis skills continually improved as the internship progressed. Overall, Luke asked questions, quickly incorporated feedback, and demonstrated a willingness to grow and work with the team.
