Code for GovTech (C4GT)

World’s first open-source community of communities around Digital Public Goods (DPG) and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). Code for GovTech (C4GT) has been introduced as India's first program, aimed at creating a community that can build and contribute to global Digital Public Goods (DPGs).

What are Digital Public Goods?

As defined by the Digital Public Goods Alliance, Digital Public Goods are open-source software, data, AI models, standards, and content that adhere to privacy standards, other applicable laws, tech best practices, do no harm by design, and help attain the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Community Program is focused on building a long-term open-source community by enabling DPG organizations to list their DPG-related problem statements and access a wide community of contributors who can solve these problem statements. The goal is to build a community of 25000+ contributors in the next 3 years.

The Dedicated Mentoring Program is India's first annual mentoring & coding program focussed on Digital Public Goods where selected contributors get the opportunity to work on population-scale projects, receive 1:1 mentorship from leading practitioners & get a stipend of 1,00,000 rupees.
