How to access the Moose server which receives and stores CHIME pathfinder beamformed data.

Get an account

To get an account, contact an administrator from the list below with the following information:

  • Preferred username
  • Ask to be added to the 'chime' and 'frb' groups.
  • You will be sent a temporary password

Administrators are (in approximate order of how long it will take them to figure out how to make you an account):

  • Andre Recnik
  • Don Wiebe
  • Richard Shaw
  • Kiyoshi Masui

Login

To log in

From there you should change your password with passwd. Then

ssh moose

It is recommended that you add the following to your local .ssh/config:

host tubular
    hostname 192.139.21.201

Such that the first command becomes

ssh username@tubular
