Requesting a Service
When a normal user wants to order a service request, he can select from the menu:
- Services Request. For the service portfolio in the organization.
- Counseling Request. For any kind of Service not defined in the previous option.
- Infrastructure Request. For any kind of hardware needs, like Virtual Machine creation, etc.
These are the three main services that were mention during the initial Drylab Settings, and inside of each, you created a set of sub-services.
Now these services will be available, for user to order them.
IMPORTANT
For detailed information for Service Management click here
When user wants to request a service that are inside the organization portfolio, there are two options:
- Sequencing was done inside the organization.
- Sequencing was done in an external site.
When the sequencing was done in the organization then select from the main menu Services Request--> Genomics Unit Sequencing
The first panel you can see that there is a list with all projects that have been recorded on wetlab for the user.
Select all projects that are requested by the service and fill the information required in other fields.
Note that some of these are choice fields that have been defined during the "initial Drylab Settings"
If you are missing some platforms or file extension, go back to initial Drylab Settings
IMPORTANT
Sometimes the person that create the service request is not the same person that is responsible for the project in wetlab.
To allow that a user can select projects that does not belong to him/her we have created a "sharing list".
In that way, a user can define a user list, with the user names that are allowed to see their projects.
Then when a user wants to order a service, his own projects and the projects that users have selected him in the "sharing list" are available to select.
See below "Adding user to sharing list".
Once you have selected the projects and the information in "Sequencing Data" panel, then you have to click on the service that you want to order.
If you are missing some services, go back to initial Drylab Settings
Last part of the form is to add additional information to help to understand your request, to know if there is a deadline, expected results, etc.
Adding user to your sharing list
Each user is responsible to keep updated their sharing list.
The list is available through your settings accounts. To open it just click on "My account" button.
Then go down to Sharing list panel and select users you want to share your projects.
To apply the changes click on the submit button.
Note that it is mandatory to fill in "Password" and "Password confirmation" fields.
Once the changes are submitted, the users that are in your "sharing list" can order a service linked to your projects.
In case the sequencing was done outside organization, select from the main menu Services Request--> External Sequencing
The main difference in the form request in the external sequencing is that project list field has been replace by a text field where define the external Organization where the sequencing was done.
This is Ok, because there is no information inside iSkyLIMS about these sequencing data, and they must be provided externally.
The list of services are the same, because we are handling the same portfolio.
Note that you can upload small file to help in the description of your service request, but it is not supported for upload big file that are generated on the sequencing.
To order a Counseling request, select from the main menu Counseling Request
The Counseling available services are showed to click on the ones you need to order.
To order a Infrastructure request, select from the main menu Infrastructure Request
The Infrastructure available services are showed to click on the ones you need to order.
For any of the requested services you will get a confirmation page with the service Number that were assigned to your request.
Additional to this confirmation an email is sent to:
- The email address that user was defined in its profile.
- The drylab manager address that is defined on the main settings of Django.
Contact with your IT administrator if you face some issues when sending emails outside your organization.
