Update upstream URLs. #8

Over the years, many of the URLs in the project have become out of date.

Especially, most of the web is now using HTTPS URLs. The URLs in the project should be updated to those.

In my personal fork repository, the branch wip/maintenance/upstream-urls-https updates all the relevant URLs.

This includes the Git submodule URLs: they need to be anonymous-access HTTPS URLs.
