The examples in the repo suggest creating new identifiers for existing CCD ids, e.g. SEP with CCD identifier changed to BB87Q,
On the other hand, existing PDB ids were extended by padding with zeros, e.g. 1abc -> pdb_00001abc
So why not do the same for CCD ids, e.g., SEP would become 00SEP?
It would avoid confusion and a lot of work for software developers.
