Warning

This functionality has been deprecated. |
You can create an Istio mesh between NKS Kubernetes clusters in just a few clicks. An Istio mesh connects Kubernetes clusters, even those which are located in different data centers, or on different providers.
Note
|
Istio mesh is not currently available for on-prem solutions. |
Requirements
-
An NKS account. If you don’t have one already, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial with no credit card required at https://nks.netapp.io.
-
Two or more NKS clusters with Istio installed. On Step 2 of the cluster creation process, click Add Solutions and select Istio from the Solutions gallery.

For demonstration purposes, we will create a cross-provider Istio mesh between an NKS cluster on AWS, and one on Azure. You can use NKS to create an Istio mesh which spans multiple providers, or between clusters on the same provider.
Click Control Plane > Istio Mesh then click Create Istio Mesh.
Update the mesh name, mesh type, and workspace if you wish. Click Submit to continue.
Select the clusters you want to add to the mesh.
Click Submit to create the Istio mesh.
