Needs:

  1. Message body needs to be visible
  2. "New" in the menu bar is deceiving; I believe the functionality is to reload the discussion topics, correct? If so, consider a new term. To me, "New" seems like submit new post, which is a different link in the signed-in menu bar
  3. The "Like" arrows are a bit deciding as well. I thought the arrow was to move a topic up to higher priority in my newsfeed, which would actually be kinda cool. That way it would double as a functional ordering of things as well as indicate a Like and send corresponding notifications. If you want to keep it as just a like, maybe you could use a Thumbs Up symbol?

I think everything else would be considered Wants and aesthetics. I'd focus on gaining beta users after achieving the 3 things above.

Thanks!

  1. Definitely.
  2. "New" is supposed to be one of the sort orders. You can sort by Newest submitted, or by "Top" (most votes). I think top is the default but can't remember for sure. Maybe putting both of these behind a "Sort" drop down would help.
  3. Yes! It does move up, if you're in "Top" mode and your vote makes it pass others. Does that make sense? But yeah, another icon could definitely help. The one there now is just a character key, was quick to add.

A perhaps less confusing word for "new" is "recent". There are probably others.
