The universal-pidff driver could be added into Bazzite. It adds support for a lot of popular racing wheel brands (Moza, Cammus, VRS, FFBeast, PXN, Lite Star and more), and not being able to install it due to being immutable is quite the barrier. It’d make sense, being a gaming distro to include it to support popular gaming peripherals or open up a method to be able to install it. There is a Flatpak hardware manager (Boxflat) for some of these wheels, but they do not include the necessary driver (link below). The driver is also not available in Akmods.
@napaalm Yep, the modules mentioned in the issue you opened appears to cover some wheels from Thrustmaster, Fanatec and Logitech. The Universal-pidff module mentioned in this issue adds support for Moza, Cammus, VRS, FFBeast, PXN, Lite Star and others.
Of course, getting support for all of those brands would be excellent as sim racing continues to grow in popularity. I know that wheel support has been a big thing holding some users back from swapping to Linux (perhaps immutable distros in particular at the moment)
Awesome news to hear that it's being worked on @KyleGospo
