Great/Open Wounds tables not rolling #237
Comments
If you are using Foundry v9, be sure to grab the latest release (4.0.0). |
You must have missed the version info I put at beginning of the comment.
And can you elaborate? Are you saying these known bugs for versions < 4.0.0 but are now fixed? Or was this just a quick "maybe this is the issue" reply? |
I did miss the version, but the bugs you are describing are ones I've fixed for v9 🤔 . Undead fortitude doesn't work well with Better Rolls (if by chance you are using that), but should spit out the DC to manually check. Try also updating DnD5e, worth a shot. At any rate, I'm a bit surprised to see these errors and its unfortunate you are running into them. All of them have been fixed in 4.0.0 for v9, but I don't think I will have the bandwidth to back port these fixes for a maintenance release. I will leave this open for now. Apologies for the troubles. |
OK, I guess I will have to wait until I update to v9. The odd thing is that I'm seeing these issues on 0.8.9 but I don't see any closed bug reports (unless I missed them) so I'm assuming no one else was seeing these problems.
I am using BR BUT I tested with all mods disabled and it still wasn't working. No manual DC check messages either.
Will give it a shot and let you know.
Understood. I get that it may be a lot of effort to do so. I'm hesitant to move to v9 just yet. I'd like to wait for a few more stable releases and, ultimately, to finish my current campaign before updating. I previously updated from 0.7.9 to 0.8.6 mid-campaign and I will never make that mistake again! :-) Thanks for the apologies but it's no real trouble. A little time to test and post this issue is all, so no big deal. |
This is kind of a stupid idea...but could you try reinstalling DnD5e Helpers? I was looking back through tickets related to your issues and they do appear to have been closed for 3.0.4. Additionally, the entire community was, rightfully, made a bit gun-shy of updating major versions after the 0.7 to 0.8 rocky road. The v9 transition has been much much smoother. I encourage you to give it a shot with a LOCAL version of your server data. You may be surprised. :) Still going to leave this open in case we find some spare cycles. I do need to double check this version because I really dont want to leave a buggy final legacy version for 0.8. |
Not stupid at all! Now if you had said "try unplugging for 30 seconds..." I would have uninstalled this mod. :-p I did not uninstall/reinstall but I did update DnD5e and we are (mostly) in business!! Undead Fortitude: Prompts me for damage type, which I was not getting before. Only thing I've noticed is if the Von Save passes, it doesn't add a hitpoint back to the creature (zombie in this test case). But perhaps the module never was supposed to do that? (If not, that would be a nice feature request to add) Lair Actions: I am now getting the prompts and all works as expected. Leg. Actions: I am getting the prompt, and can select a LA to use. All that works fine. I noticed that it doesn't restore the LAs until after the creature's turn however, and not at the start of it.
**UPDATE** Missed checking the initial reason for this ticket - Great Wounds. I get the prompt to roll, but still no auto table rolls. I reinstalled this mod and disabled all others, and I still do not get the roll table to roll automatically. For Open Wounds, I can get it to work with the "drop to 0 HP" option but not on the critical hit option. This is with a token targeted. |
Oh this is fantastic feedback. I will definitely make a note about the dnd5e version. I'm pretty surprised that solved so many things... Ok, now that we are pretty aligned, I will definitely look into great wounds and open wounds. I may have fixed this in 4.0.0 and if so, it would be an easy thing to port. Thanks for your patience ❤️ |
I was also to be honest. Must have been a very impactful change in Dnd5e after 1.5.3 to fix all of those issues!
That's great news! Hopefully it does end up being an easy fix. If not though, at least most things work now.
Not at all. Thank you for spending your personal time to create this mod for everyone. :-) |
Just wanted to update you @trioderegion. I'm on FVTT v9.255 & DnD5e v1.5.7 now. Unfortunately still getting the issue. I tested with all mods except libraries disabled. I do get prompted for a CON Save for the Great Wound but nothing happens, pass or fail. The table is never rolled. (Also worth noting that even when I set the CON save DC to 0, it still prompts for a CON save). I am getting a new error however and hopefully this helps. Error pops up after hitting the button for the CON save: |
I am working on a biiiig bugfix patch. it should be ready in a few days. If you are bold, you can try the latest beta release and I believe this particular feature should be working. |
Assuming I'd have to manually install the beta so would that kill my settings config? Also I see there are 2 betas. Just go with the latest? Thanks! |
it should all be the same settings, but double check them because I have been shifting around and tweaking it. And yes the latest beta is the one to try. |
Double check and close this for 4.3.0 |
Foundry VTT ver 0.8.9
DnD 5e ver 1.5.3
Dnd5e Helpers ver 3.0.4
Not sure if I'm missing something but it doesn't seem like I am. I have a table setup called
CriticalWound
, and the name in the mod settings matches. However when a token/actor takes >50% max damage in 1 hit, I do not get a table roll. I do get the CON roll prompt but pass or fail, no table is rolled. Here is my settings for this section.

Tried with all mods disabled except this one and LibWrapper, same results. Any thoughts?
EDIT:
After testing several other features, many of them do not seem to be working for me. I am also not getting prompts/rolls/etc. for the following:
-Undead Fortitude
-Legendary Action Prompt
-Lair Action Prompt
Only things that seem to be working correctly are Cover and Regeneration.
For Undead Fortitude, it did throw a console error (see below), but there are no errors for the other issues.
