Journal Allows Saving Empty Fields After Initial Save

When a student tries to save a journal entry for the first time on a given date, the system prevents saving if any field is left empty, displaying an "Error saving data" message. However, once the student enters some data, saves it, and then deletes the entered notes, the system allows saving even when the fields are empty.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. As a student, attempt to save a journal entry with empty fields for the first time on a given date, an error message is displayed (intended behavior).
2. Enter some data into the fields and save the journal entry successfully.
3. Delete the entered data from the fields, leaving them empty.
4. Save the journal entry again the system allows it (bug).
