Will there finally be a native support for stereo PCM samples?

I find it really weird because even really old trackers like Impulse Tracker have native stereo PCM sample support where stereo PCMs do not get converted into mono PCMs.

Please, will this finally be a feature at some point?

(Even if native stereo PCM is not a thing on SNES or some other sampling chips, at least make it available for use using the Generic DAC chip.)
