Environment

  • TeXstudio: 4.8.6 (git 0.0.0++)
  • Qt: 5.15.13
  • OS: Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon (6.4.6)
  • TeX distribution: texlive

Expected behavior

When I press Home button, go to the beginning of the line.

Actual behavior

All shortcuts with Home buttons do not work, and Home button does not work, without going to the begin of the line.

How to reproduce

I simply installed from repository ppa:sunderme/texstudio, and it does not work.

works fine on ubuntu 24.04

This sounds like desktop enviroment/set-up issue.

It works perfectly everywhere, also in texstudio configuration panels. But not in the editor, it seems to be similar to #3352.

I tried to delete .config/texstudio directory and restart. Now it works, but as soon as I change some shortcuts (not related to the home button) it doesn't work anymore. For now, I am forced to use it without the custom shortcuts.

okay, I give you one more round but you have to be precise.
"I changed some shortcuts and it does not work" is way too little.
One change, and state exactly what that change is. (And just to be clear, recheck that the error is occuring after that change)

You are right, I am sorry. The shortcut is "Build & View" and I set F12 as "Additional Shortcut". After saving, the home key does not work anymore. It works again only if I use "Restore Default Setttings".

works fine here (ubuntu)
My guess is that the desktop environment and its global shortcuts somehow interfere.
Nothing we can do.
