QOL: Did the thing work?

For both new users and for quality control, it will be useful to have diagnostics in the form of metrics that can aid endusers with answering the question: did the thing work?

This should be produced in the form of estimated errors of the registration, including basic statistics and distributions. Our documentation will then guide users into how to interpret these.
