Using a supported version?

  • I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
  • I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

Number of unread messages inconsistent between filter and notification

Steps to reproduce

Difficult to reproduce
This started after a computer restart
However, I cannot remove this unread message.
There are no unread messages on the android app

Expected result

There is no unread message

Actual result

There is one unread message

@ludovicandrieux thanks for the report; I have a couple follow-on questions for you if you don't mind:

  1. If you click on the "hamburger" menu to show the tabs pane, do either the Chat or Call icons have an unread indicator?
  2. We had a bug in the past where we some call history events were incorrectly stuck as unread. If you're willing, you could try going to the Calls tab and selecting "Clear call history" from the three-dot menu, and see if that resolves the unread message.
