Hi,

Would you please consider adding a new menu option as "Randomize ALL slots" to grab four randomly selected WAV files from the "Samples Root" folder?

DrumPlayer is (and has always been) one of my favourite VCV modules. But I've realized that regardless the thousands of WAVs I have, I tend to select the same 10-15 if I need to choose manually. This random feature would be a great one for some wild experiments.

Hi, I will think about it

I updated drumPlayerXtra in v2.6.17-beta12 for now.
Just try to set a root folder, then the Randomize option will appear in the context menu.
Please, report me any issue,
thanks

Hi,
Tested, works smooth. It includes subfolders (that I love by the way). Using the Ctrl-R for the purpose creates an even wilder experience than I thought because of changing all the knobs and samples as well. I love the result.

Nice. I will update other DrumPlayer modules.
About subfolders: randomize option should not involve files in root subfolders, otherwise it could be an happy accident. Please double check it.

Stop! I need to correct myself.

So in case of a "Samples Root Directory" that is full of WAV files, the Ctrl-R replaces the slots randomly with new WAVs. But the descriptions are unchanged.

If the "Samples Root Directory" has only one WAV file then it does something I don't understand.

My apologies for the earlier, quick but incorrect feedback. I keep on testing.

Cheers, A.

Ok. the Ctrl+R function has never been managed on my modules, so the behavior can be weird. I'll take a look

For now I have to put this Randomize feature on drumPlayerXtra only, because its file management is different from the others

I'm sorry for causing so much trouble.
At the same time I have to confirm that subfolders are ignored.
Additionally if all slots are cleared then Ctrl-R does not load new WAVs.

No worries.
I have to say that on my system Ctrl+R do randomize only knobs, I don't realize how this function can load any sample to you.
