Do destination plugins require settings to work? #1042

Relevant code that checks for settings:
https://github.com/segmentio/analytics-react-native/blob/master/packages/core/src/plugin.ts#L119-L130

Most documentation suggests adding plugins like this (using Firebase destination plugin as the example):

segmentClient.add({ plugin: new FirebasePlugin() });

But, from some of my testing it seems that I need something like this instead for it to work:

segmentClient.add({ plugin: new FirebasePlugin(), settings: true });

Am I missing something?
