Spawning on lava

So i have the spawn block near a lava pool and they sorta just hover ontop of the lava whenever they should be sinking into it. i have to hit them in to be able to make them burn

If you press f3+b it should show their hitbox, can you make sure no part of the hitbox (even if it is less than a pixel big) is on a solid block?

it wasnt, he was completely suspended over the lava with at least 2 blocks of it on any side

it also was automatically showing hitboxes except it was in black
