GitHub Pull Request Fork to Fork

GitHub Pull Request Fork to Fork is a browser extension that simplifies your workflow when working with forked repositories. It adds a new button to create pull requests that target your forked repository directly, ensuring you never mistakenly send pull requests to the original repository.

Installation

Google Chrome

  1. Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome and confirm the installation.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Download the extension from the Addons Mozilla Org.
  2. Click Add to Firefox and confirm the installation.

Usage

  1. Navigate to the forked repository where you want to create a pull request.
  2. Click the new button labeled Create Pull Request to Fork.
  3. The pull request will automatically target your fork's default branch.

Development

Want to contribute? Here's how you can set up the project for local development:

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/your-username/github-pull-request-fork-to-fork.git
cd github-pull-request-fork-to-fork

  2. Install dependencies:

    pnpm install

  3. Build the extension:

    cd packages/chrome
pnpm build

  4. Load the extension in your browser:

    • For Chrome: Load the dist directory as an unpacked extension.
