Speaking of lintr using the sourcepos argument of commonmark will help.

However the markers will be for the markdown file not the Rmd file but that's another issue.

In that case should it generalize beyond blog posts e.g. bookdown/Quarto book h/t @steffilazerte

(still not a priority)
