This is work to be done during the meeting on 2023-09-12:

  • Confirm the criteria outlined in the current draft of the software authorship definition
  • Discuss and agree on wording

To clarify, this is work to be done by the ReSA Task Force, i.e., anyone who joins the Task Force and wants to do this work.

  • We've added a section giving examples for the four criteria.
  • We discussed adding guideline sections:
  1. More abstract subsection pointing to potential issues with adoption
    a. “Moving between roles” (contributor <-> author)
    b. “Substantiality of contributions”
    - Dimensions (size, time, continuity)
    - Metrics
    c. “How to apply authorship criteria to your own project”
    - Project-specific adoption
    - May expand criteria or use a subset
  2. Concrete examples from TF and community
    • Same subsections as in “Abstract” section?
