Not playing in background

This issue is related to the app review, where I criticized, that the sleep button is not tappable. But I got missunderstood, that the sleep would not work in the background. Just to clarify: there is no problem with the sleep function, other than the "hitbox".

The actual problem is, that when I leave the app/ go to homescreen, the app stops playing.

Goal:
The app keeps playing in the background when leaving the app

Did you try restarting the app, this happens in some extremely rare circumstances, but if it is a common thing I need to investigate further?

What version of iOS are you using?

My iOS version is 18.1.1 on iPad air (13) of this gen. I tried to reproduce it once again - but it plays now in background. Even without restarting. The only thing I can tell, is that I always leave the app, after setting a sleep timer. Or in other words: I hear podcasts, but never without sleep timer. Also it's very often charging, when I use ShelfPlayer. But I can't imagine, that these information are helpful in any way

Now, 2h later it was reproducable. Without ans exception to what I did. Like you can see in the video. Whether sleeptimer nor episode nor charging or not does matter. I tried all combinations. The last thing I can think of, is the time when I am using the app. This video was recorded around 11.30 pm.
