A common reason for using Auto Tab Discard is to target a specific account of a website for aggressive auto discard (e.g., to prevent analytics for a specific identity in the background). The existing URL blacklist mechanism is enough to do this for certain websites, but often it isn’t. The extension could rely on the next best thing: counting on a user’s habit of segregating such tabs into a private window, or―in the case of Firefox―assigning tabs to designated containers.
Add a feature to limit scope of extension to private windows/tabs or containers (in Firefox).
