Cannot install pybind11

I've tried to install pybind11 in 2 linux based virtual machines and a third on laptop but the OS freezes everytime, it didn't happen a few weeks ago, following are the commands :

git clone https://github.com/pybind/pybind11 
cd pybind11 && mkdir build && cd build
 cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=<your installation path> .. 
make -j install
