Using Erlang code instead of XML for test scenarios

Hi, I use tsung almost in a daily basis, and despite the age it has, it works quite well.

But...
I wonder how hard it would be to use Erlang code to write test scenarios instead of relying on XML, and how more expressive and easier it could be ?
