I have been able to succesfully connect to other vnc sessions on ec2, but when I run these scripts,I get the mate desktop flashup for a split second and intermittently it disconnects.

What could I play with to help it become stable?

I'm running it on a g2.2xlarge.

hi @queglay what resolution did you setup? that rectangle doesn't seem quite right...
also, which vnc client are you using?

thanks for the quick response.

I never set a resolution. as soon as starting a new g2 instance I ran the script and on completion i used vnc viewer on mac to connect.

I never used the builtin mac client with this, can you try with a turbovnc client to see if that fixes the issue?
you can find the latest versions here

Thankyou so much for your work, this is mind blowing! very close to 24 fps playback.

I got it to work on windows in vmware on the mac with turbovnc which is great! I wonder what options there are for mac if it can be done... but i could setup bootcamp as well if needed.

Glad I could help, and thanks for the kudos :)

btw, turbovnc client comes for mac as well so you shouldn't need using windows at all

lastly please @queglay pls close the issue when you're done
