Describe requirements

ArcGIS Online has so many great basemaps! However, it can be overwhelming for users of SARCOP. Can we narrow down a list of "Top 7'?

  1. Open Street Map (Tactical style, for printing)
  2. Navigation (for Google / Apple Maps like theme and POI)
  3. Topographic (for Inland flooding and other areas where topo matter)
  4. Imagery Hybrid (for when pre-event imagery is needed)
  5. Light Gray / Human Geography (for when the data matters more than basemap)
  6. ???
  7. ???

Alternatives

If we keep the default list there will be way too many!

See the Basemap switcher web map for options.

Then we need to make a "Basemap" Group following the steps https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/configure-a-default-basemap-in-arcgis-online-1462482795-000011886

Let's get this configured on the napsg.maps.arcgis.com, I cannot control this on the fema.maps.arcgis.com but we do have control over this for sargeo.maps.arcgis.com.

Priority impact

p0 - not time sensitive

Impact

This has been a source of confusion in the past, we should address it.
