Instead of making hachures appear more often on steep slopes, we could provide the option to keep the hachure density even, and allow the stroke width of the hachures to vary based on slope.
This should be relatively simple with the existing script functions. We would generate a full hachure set, then divide it into even segments. Then those segments sample the underlying slope & store it as an attribute. This allows us to easily change stroke width in the symbology for that layer, based on the underlying slope.
