This happens because phansch.net doesn't have an SSL certificate. philhansch.net has a certificate through github pages.
Not 100% sure, how much of an issue this is. On most platforms, I'm already advertising https://philhansch.net instead of the old one. And this only affects https and not email. This is only an issue if someone types in phansch.net in their browser or follows a https://phansch.net link from somewhere.
One solution could be to set up a minimal GitHub pages project for phansch.net, enable SSL, and handle the redirect through that, instead of using Namecheap for the redirect.
