No sound for eac3 audio stream

No sound at all neither in live video nor in a recorded stream with eac3 audio. All stations that use this mode (e.g. ZDF) are affected. I am using the latest git version together with vdr 2.4.0
The recorded sample stream plays however nicely with ffplay, mplayer etc. It can be fetched from

The various settings in vaapidevice (passthrough, downmix, tweaks) do not help.

I have no audio problems with your sample. Please, double check your ALSA configurations.
